Wash your teeth after every meal, look both sides before you cross

Would it be possible to actually live with the constant threat that routine will makes us disappear? To say, for instance, that your teeth would vanish (in one strike or progressively) after washing them every day. How could such a thing make you go on and lead a 'normal' life? How could you live actually, always with the threat of disappearence?
