Boring drinks here, exhuberant dinner there (leaving you a bit bloated). Giving the impression you've been really touched by presents (luckily enough, there weren't many this year). Tedious news broadcasts about nuns who are 'ever so graceful for bringing happiness to the less well-off' (no deja de ser soprendente que en la tele ya no se dice 'los pobres', sino 'familias de escasos recursos').
So that's it, the noughties are almost over. And things don't seem at all what they were when they started, and yet most important things appear strikingly similar. 'First as tragedy, then as farce'.
